A Shot in the Dark

Tranmere Rovers FC away to Oxford City FC at Marsh Lane in an FA Cup 1st Round replay

The Rovers take on the Hoops of the National league South in a replay after the first leg at Prenton Park ended 3-3.

The Whites were victorious on a cold November night  in Oxfordshire with first half goals from James Norwood and Paul Mullin to finish 0-2.  We progress to the second round and so Southport here we come.My first evening match.  Not been out in the dark before. Loving football under the flood lightsAnd thanks to reserve keeper Shamal George for narrowly missing me with the ball during the warm up.

Go West!

Tranmere Rovers FC away to Yeovil Town at Huish Park in League 2

The Rovers face The Glovers at the new Huist Park , the levels one, on a sunny day in Somerset.  This is my first trip to the west country.  Nice here.  Shame about the football.  Ended goalless.  Might even win one one day but good to keep a clean sheet.

See you soon for more thrills and spills!

Everybody was Kung Foo Fighting

Tranmere Rovers away to Swindle Town FC at the County Ground in League 2

The Rovers take on the Robins in our first visit to Wiltshire.

Tranmere started well with two early goals from Jonny Smith and his Lordship James Norwood of Birkenhead.  It all went wrong with a karate kick high tackle from the mild mannered Jay (Bruce Lee) Harris which led to a straight red.  Swindon Town took control of the game and went on to win 3-2. Not the result we wanted.  Still not seen a win in league 2.

There were a few high tackles from the Death Ninja stewards and we got a bit squashed in the melee and had to move seats.

Not a nice atmosphere and strange being stuck in the corner when there is an empty stand.

Hope to see you somewhere nicer soon.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot!

Tranmere Rovers away to Stevenage FC at the Lamex Stadium in League 2

We are at very a sunny Steeeevenage in Hertfordshire to see the Rovers visit the Boro' at the 3 sided Broadhall Way.

Bit warm for showing off my new scarf.  Lots of new faces in the team for our first game back in League 2.  I'll say that again, League 2.

Tranmere went 2-0 down in 27 minutes in the 32°C heat.  Goals from James Norwood either side of the break levelled the score to finish 2-2.  A good comeback in the conditions.

Can we go home now I'm melting.

Ticket To Rides

Tranmere Rovers faces Boreham Wood FC in the National League Playoff Final at Wembley Stadium

Wemberleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The Rovers are back at Wembley and are this time up against The Wood in another National League Play-off final.  Prize for the winner is promotion back into the football league.

What a game that was!  Down to ten men when Liam Ridehalgh is sent off for a two footed tackle after just 48 seconds. All 3 subs used in the first half.  Score 1-1 at half time thanks to a goal by Andy Cook on 6 minutes and a Borehamwood equaliser in the 8th minute of first half injury time.  Finished 2-1 to Tranmere with a 80th minute goal by Lord Norwood of Birkenhead.  It just trickled over the line in slow motion.  The Whites are going up, the whites are going up.

Tranmerekat Rovers going back to the football league.  Ta-ra to the bin league, wer'e going back where we belong.  The band of heroes have done it.

POTM : Take bow James Norwood ๐Ÿฅ‡, grafted for every one of the 103 minutes, provide the cross for the first goal and scored the second. Special mention ๐Ÿฅˆfor Connor Jennings for coming back from the dead, literally, to provide the cross for the winner.

Hope Rides is OK. Still love him.

League 2. Sounds good. See you there..

Come Rain Or Come Shine

Tranmere Rovers away to Dover Athletic (again) in the National League

It's not actually raining this time.  It's a nice spring Tuesday evening.  Originally travelled down to the Crabble Ground on Good Friday  for the match to be called off due to waterlogged pitch just as everyone was arriving.

The Whites verses urrm. the Whites in a battle del bianco.

Tranmere won the match 1-0 with Andy Cook in his magic hat scoring the only goal.  Fantastic atmosphere for a Tuesday night at the opposite end of the country.  Almost felt like we could sing the ball into the net.   ๐ŸŽตOh Andy Cook is magic, he wears a magic hat. ๐ŸŽฉ

Come on Dover! Move your bloomin' arse!!

Let It Snow

Tranmere Rovers FC Away to Boreham Wood FC in the National League

Rovers away take on The Wood at a very cold and snowy Meadow Park.  Freezing my tail off  with the temperature at -2C watching Rovers lose 2-1 to Boreham Wood. Tranmere Rovers goal was scored by Lord Norwood.

A hot drink might have been nice. Just a thought.

Can we go home now I can't feel my feet.

Will It Never End?

Tranmere Rovers away to Maidstone United at the Gallagher Stadium in the National League

My first match. The Rovers away to the Stones in the Kent sunshine in the Vanarama Nation league.

Good VFM, 110 minutes for the price of 90.  Tranmere won 3-2 with goals from Andy Cook, Alex Finney (OG) and Adam Buxton.

A lovely (long) day out in the Garden of England and 3 points going back to the Wirral.

Quick question. How many yards is 10 yards? Answers on a postcard to the ref.  Don't tell him it's less than 15 yards or you will be booked like Ollie Norburn.

See you
